yes you can, Halfords do a good selection, although the magnet you get will be one that clips onto the spoke of a pushbike, so get yourself to maplins and have a look in their catalogue at the shapes/sizes of magnet you can use so you can glue it to your Rim. Thumbs Up

I fitted a vapor dash onto a Hornet. The magnet for the speedo was a doddle to fit - I just ran a 6mm tap through one of the disc buttons and screwed it into that Thumbs Up

hi,
i've had better results with the wired type.
on certain bikes the wieless ones go haywire at high revs.
the cheapo one i got from sainsburys is pretty good but even better was the one from aldi.
back lit,very accurate,temp guage etc.
most of the magnets dont fit to alloy wheels ((or spokes for that matter) but some are better designed than others.
& you can always araldite the magnet to the wheel.
cheers,
GAZ

I have one on my mountain bike and I know the display has to be in sight of the sender unit so have a good read of the instructions if you can, before you buy.

If you go in halfords ask if you can see the kits, a demo of the display etc.

mine had one of these in.
https://www.jensonusa.com/product/cp/CP296Z19BLK.jpg

which is designed to go on a pushbike spoke. you can either modify it as said above to go in one of your disc buttons, or get a small magnet from Maplins to glue to your rim Thumbs Up

Dont glue a magnet to your rim. Reason I say this is because the magnet will be traveling a hell of a lot faster than if its fitted nearer the hub.

So at higher speeds, The speedo will still be able to pick up the magnet. When I had my NC29, I had the magnet fitted to the rim and it would only read up to about 85mph before it lost "contact" of the magnet. It then went crazy and read out 10mph, Then 50mph, Then 25mph, etc..

I've got a pushbike speedo fitted to my pit bike, Got a button magnet glued to the hub, And a custom made bracket for the pickup sensor, which is bolted from the Caliper mount.

Reads well up to top speed on the pit bike, Which was around 75mph with the old 150 4 stroke engine fitted.
Will be interesting to see what it reads with the new engine.

Get a wired one. The wireless ones can get a little scrambled because of the engine electrics. Also I think their range is something like 700mm, which might not be enough for a good signal

I've glued my magnet on the disc and never had a problem with it - tested to 110ish so far. Cost me a fiver, fitted it 3 years ago and never missed a beat

Green bike, magnet located at 7 o clock on the disc, pick up is located on the fork leg

You don't. You need them for the construction and use regs - which is more the traffic cops jurisdiction.

If the MOT tester can see a mileage, then he'll mark the MOT as reading not available.
