They had speed trials at work a few weeks ago with a view to fitting speed cameras. Turns out not that many people speed, I guess they are busy taking in the views.
Apart from the motorbike rider that AVERAGED!!! 170MPH at 3 in the morning.

Apparently there are pictures but its all too blurry to make out. Im going to try and get hold of a copy!

So which one of you heroic bastards was it?

Thumbs Up to whoever it was!

Where do you work? what kind of speed trials do you mean?
I'm being stupid and sure I've missed something but I'm not sure I know what context you're talking about.

Must have been heading out of Wales then. You have to pay to get in, which I always found strange. You'd think they'd make more money charging it the other way Very Happy

I see it more as a tax on the Welsh, they go "abroad" to England and have to pay to get home. Given how desperate the average Valley dweller is for culture they must make a killing. Lets face it, they are probably surprised at the toll each time. Plus of course if you charged sensible people to leave Wales then there would probably be an uproar in the European courts. Cruel and Unusual punishment springs to mind.

Can't see a true Welshman paying to get into England TBH Wink

Incidentally, I knew a Welsh lad from Anglesea who got sent to Caernarvon to pick up a clutch for a tractor. He got across the Menai Bridge and shit himself, turned around and went home. He'd never been off the island and was scared if he went too far from the bridge he wouldn't find his way back.

Geri - That's more common than you think. The maintenance man who used to service a house I rented in Llanfairfechan not so long ago told me he'd lived in the village all his life and had never been further than Pwllheli his whole life. I couldn't help but feel sorry for him!

You do know that the toll is free for bikes right? I expect you wouldn't know though, you wouldn't want to come here to the Valleys where all us scum live. We're inbred, unintelligent and useless you see. Rolling Eyes

Oh and as for culture, the only culture we have is what's in our fridge on top of the moldy yoghurt.

I'd be inclined to agree with you, I grew up not far from Llyn Brianne. People that far south have been cross-breeding with the English for years, hardly true Welshmen these days.

Due to the lack of well paid work in the valleys if you charged for them leaving Wales to gain access to some culture they wouldn't be able to afford it, therefore the suicide rate would increase considerably. Thumbs Up

Oh yeah I know. When I was a lad there was an old farmer lived on a farm called Orsedd Goch, he had never been out of the village. Damned if I can remember the guy's name but Google brings up pictures of the farm. I was too young to appreciate the beauty of the place when I live up there, it really is some stunning countryside. Can't blame him for wanting to stick around.
