Do you want to pay retail? If so, places like Demon Tweeks, HPS etc sell seat cowls. Otherwise, keep an eye on Ebay.

Thanks guys, I will avoid the drop the bike post, I hope I never have a need to post up my experiences in there!

Not only is it blue, it is a really nice metallic blue that needs lots and lots of waxing!

Oops, I have revealed my sad side, I love cleaning my bikes!

Blue is the best colour for an R1 except for perhaps silver. Wink

Have a look at https://pyramid-plastics.co.uk/pyramid_plastx.html they tend to make lots of aftermarket goodies.

There's also a company called Dynamite some thing or other, can't remember what the web address is though. They are/were Yamaha specialists, be careful though it can get expensive!

Watch out for the colour match on aftermarket parts, I've heard of some close but no cigar colours. The official Yam part is expensive though unless you manage to get one off Ebay as TiN said.

Had a look at that, thanks, and very tempting.

Well I rode my new baby to her new home, it is an awesome machine!!! Shocked Really amazing....

A definite licence loser, a small twist and gentle purr from the engine and you are on the wrong side of a 100 mph in seconds...

Fantastic machine, I feel like I am now officially allowed to post here, even if some of my posts are a bit weird... Confused

Is it me, or when you get a new bike, do you want to do nothing but ride and be with your new machine. In fact I think I am going to go down to the garage now and have another look! Cool

Agreed, black and silver is the best colour!

I must be in the minority I love the red/white 98. Enjoy your new R1 they are awesome.

For me the colours of r1's have become more boring over the years culminating in the latest.

The brighter the colours the better for me.
Its not just r1's a lot of the new bikes are not in primary colours just dark colours.

Same as me when i my bike. You just cant keep away from it. You even resort to popping out at 12 o clock midnight, just staring at it, different angles etc

I think that is half the fun of biking, the time you spend in the garage tinkering.... Cool
