I'd rather not attempt the swerve test in the winter (the only time I can take it) on a battered old CB with questionable brakes and tyres, would much rather use the gixxer or rvf thanks.

AFAIK its not illegal to ride your bike to and from a test, but I take it it still needs to have MOT? What happens if I get pulled by the rozzers?

if i remember correctly the way they screw you is the test has to be on a machine with >35bhp thus you can't actually have ridden there on your own machine as that would violate the terms of the a1 licence.

That would be what vans are for, methinks. Either that, or get a licensed mate with appropriate insurance to ride it there.
