Just a quick tale of how my battered faith in my fellow man/women/people (for the PC brigade Rolling Eyes) was replenished.

Sat at home on Friday and step-daughter dashed in wanting to phone her phone as she couldn't find it.
So discovered it's not in her bag (you could lose a kitchen sink in there).

Worked out she most probably dropped it at the bus stop. Dash to the car to go and try and find it. On the way rang the phone, no answer. Didn't want to try too many times as the battery on the missing phone was low.

Anyhow, my phone rang and it was a guy on a bus on the way to Tadcaster. He'd found the phone and would give it to us. So arranged where to meet and found the guy outside the pub (where else!).

Turns out as there was York horse racing the town was heaving. So him and a group of deaf lads had headed out out town for a drink. One of the deaf lads had found the phone and passed it on. He'd decided to call the Mum and Dad number.

Didn't ask for any reward but had him take a £10 for a round of drinks for the group with much thanks Thumbs Up Very Happy

Goes to show that it's not all chav scum and greedy politicians out there. Just thought I'd share Thumbs Up

A few weeks ago I left a pub, pretty drunk, and about half an hour later realised I didn't have my wallet. Went back to the pub and someone had handed it in behind the bar, complete with the £100 that was in it when I left it Smile Thumbs Up

There are still some nice people out there, i was in the pub and had my ipod with me and it was on the table. I got home and realised i had left it so i went back to the pub the next day and it had been handed in. Its an ipod with over 2500 songs on it. Some scally could have stolen it and sold it but they didn't. I've found all sorts and always give them back i believe in karma. I've found phones, purses/wallets, car keys and a dog. I didn't really want any of them. Apart from the dog.

I remember working away years ago. Left a pub at kicking out time, get halfway home and realise I've left my phone. Go back, tell the door man, who hands me my phone. I thank him and walk away, 'Phil, you left your baccy as well'. Wonder how he knows my name? Again thank him and walk away. 'Phil, you forgot your wallet'. So that's how he knows my name. 'Phil, you forgot your coat'.

Shocked I only realised I'd left my phone. Shocked

Pretty good of him though. The doormen I know keep what they find.

In Tesco I was waiting in the queue for the self-help pay thingies. Woman I was waiting on walked away without lifting her deep sea diver, I could've swiped it but being the genuine legend I am I said "excuse me, your change" .. embarrassed was she, but thankful.

4 times, I've lost a mobile phone, 4 times it's been returned to me by the finder. Thumbs Up Also lost my electronic work pass years ago, it was handed in at the local plod. Thumbs Up

Only ever handed in a wallet. It had nothing of worth in it, just a Leeds United season ticket Wink [bait] [/bait]

Hi

Charlottes phone dropped out of her pocket on the bike today. Got to the pub and she thought she had left it at home. I got a call from her mother saying someone had got her phone and to give them a ring. Turned out some other riders had spotted it (by running over it) and taken it to the nearest house.

All the best

Keith

I found a wallet with AU$300 at a time when I was setting my alarm for 4am so I could rob fresh bread and cakes and papers. Very poor I was, but I was always giving bits of change to tramps. I saw the wallet as a little bit of karma. Law of the jungle.

i was in a hotel in Portugal and either one of the maids or the maintenance staff who came in robbed my wallet my parents had got me for my 13th birthday i think it was, with £80 pounds of English money in.
Don't think I've ever had anything returned that I've lost. Although i did find keys in a scooter once i did briefly think of robbing it, but i came to my sense and realized 3 things
1. People might of recognized me
2. There would no way i could live with the shame of being see riding a scooter
and 3. nobody would ever believe i wasn't gay !
so i just handed them in at reception of college Laughing
