I've been given a Honda Vfr800fi with 5K on the clock and is only what can only be described a show room condition "BUT" while it has stood in my inlaws garage for the last few months (serviced 12 months ago everything OK) mice have move into the air box and pi**ed down the throttle boddies and into one of the front pots. I have brought the replacement throttle boddies but I'm not sure if it worth trying to get the corroded and sized pot sorted or to take a chance on a second hand engine that may be past its best.

Whatever happens I'm going to have to pay somebody to do this as I have very little mechanical knowledge.

Any advice or suggestions welcome.

Sounds like the bike may be worthless, mouse infestations are a real pain to sort. Not so much the parts, but the labour.

I'll take the bike off you for a hundred quid if you like? I'm doing you a favour... Laughing

Thanks for the replies and offers of help and even the 100 quid to take it off my hands. Unfortunately, the mouse pee has seized one pot and badly pitted the piston and cylinder, so with this in mind, I have taken the plunge and brought a second hand engine with 5600 miles on it with a 60 day warranty.

So I hope (once fitted) it will have a fighting chance of moving under its own power again.

Thanks again.
