So had a few mates round for some beers, they found some wax strips from god knows where and the wax is stuck to the carpet in the living room...

Any suggestions on getting this wax out of the carpet?

Have tried putting some cloth over it then ironing on a low heat to get the wax to melt out. Dosnt seem to want to melt.

Cheers

Don't know if these suggestions work on Veet though. I have no idea what that's like. Laughing

Heat and kitchen towels work the best...keep at it, but it won't fix the carpet completely.

Have you tried using oil? Perhaps a light one like groundnut oil, just gently rub it into the wax and it should lift it.

Brad got his shin done. Someone stuck one to my stomach hair when I wasn't looking and now I have a square of baldness there Sad

Annabella; I'll try that at some point. If that dosn't work then I'll give up, Its just too much effort.

Cheers all.

This method works perfectly for the batik process...kitchen towels are absorbant, and soak the heated wax up.

I can recommend a cleaning company if you are interested. They came to my work place last night to do the carpets. And considering there was over 6 months worth of dirt walked in from the customers, plus printers ink, and machinery oil everywhere, the carpets were like new this morning. Thumbs Up

I'm fairly sure that Veet wax is water soluble. If you got one of those carpet washer things and used some hot water, that might do it.

Actually, I just looked on their website and the strips come with 'finishing wipes'. I would guess that this means the wax strips aren't water soluble, in which case my suggestion would be rubbish.

I got one of them waxing strips stuck in my hair about six months ago.

I accidentally left it on the toilet cistern after I used it, and forgot about it till the next morning, when I went for a wee, and all my hair was out long, and brushed against it and got all caught up in it.

Fuckin' thing! Couldn't get it out cos my hair is so thick and curly.

Now my hair's got a big chunk chopped out on one side Evil or Very Mad

Laughing Laughing

some bully in school once spat chewing gun in my hair when he walked past me, my hair was tied up so it was at the back and under. I had to cut it out to.
He got really sick after that and near died and became very thin and nice to people. Sorted him out anyway. Evil or Very Mad
