Today i went to pick up my car from my mates house where it has been stored since last november due to a lack of funds. After connecting the battery i started her for the first time in months, i was just sitting in her daydreaming about having my own transport for the first time this year when my mate shouted at me to turn her off. the bloody core plugs were pissing out coolant, Embarassed Is it possible to replace core plugs with the engine "in situ?" Can anybody give me any tips on how to do this please? Karma

yes core plugs are easily replaced, they are metal caps which look a bit like milk bottle tops & are pressed into the side of the engine block. they are designed to pop out if the coolant in the engine freezes & expands so you don't damage the engine. you'll find them in the block underneath the sparkplugs & new ones can be lightly tapped into place just using a socket of the same diameter & a hammer.
