right
just changed the pads on the rear calliper, been trying to bleed them for the last hour but the pistons aren't moving. ive had them out, cleaned and oiled them up with brake fluid but no joy Evil or Very Mad
bike is an mzrt 125

Hi

Where is the bleed nipple on the caliper? Air rises to the top and most bikes are sensible and have the bleed nipple at the highest point but not all.

hi keith

its on the top mate. i dont understand it at all. i only took the pistons out to give the calliper a clean as it wasnt releasing Crying or Very sad

is it ok to re use the copper washers on the banjo bolt or do i need to heat them up before re fitting them. only asking as my mate said that you have to heat them with a blow torch????

Copper washers can be reanealed by heating up until they start to glow then quenching in a bucket of water.

done that today with camping stove Laughing . bottom line is that i need new piston seals which i ordered last tuesday just in case Exclamation
still not here though Evil or Very Mad

Not a good idea to quench the washers that will just case harden them and make them brittle, its best to let them cool naturaly.

never quenched them mate. i let them cool then rub them down with some fine emery paper Thumbs Up
