Hartside Bike Meet INVADED

Was out for my usual Sunday ride out today. Thought I'd take a run from Newcastle across to Ullswater across the moors (and some nice twisty roads). More of a bimble that anything else as I was riding alone, and just didn't feel like tearing along (old age)

Anyway, there was a big Police presence out today and a group of lads who had overtaken me coming in to Alston were already pulled over talking nicely with the boys in blue (and yellow).

Pulled in to Hartside Cafe to finf the place absolutely heaving. Noy only were there the usual suspects but the Police had turned up with their BikeSafe message, TV screens, about 7 Police bikes (including a ZX10r), Yamaha Pit Girls (Oh, yes ), fire brigade bikes, and a couple of what I assumed were actual racers with the Yamaha truck which were demonstrating bikes for punters to try.

Then all of a sudden a whole team of American Hotrodders pull in for tea and bacon butties

Oh, and the Cumbrian Air Ambulance turned up (if it were Top Trumps that pretty much would have won!)

So the hotrodders stole your day then, thats not so bad I like a good hot rod car myself , could never afford one though. I build model kits of the American hot rod cars in my spare time.
