I've seen a fair few .gif animations of a video, so it plays like the video, but obviously is a web image that can go on web sites etc.

Is that done by taking a frame by frame screen shot then pasting into some gif animation program? Or is there a program that can convert short clips into animations?

Hope someone knows how Mr. Green

I used to be able to do it. I can't remember off the top of my head how it's done again though. Eh?

I'll look into it when I get home from work if nobody has answered by then.

It can be done using graphics packages such as photoshop and paint shop pro. however for people such as yourself who have little or no expirence in these packages and for whom learning them is a bit excessive just to make a single gif, applications such as this have been created:

Did you know I have a web site and graphics design company?

Laughing

But I've never attempted any animations ever as normally they are annoying, but I want to know how to do the video > gif thingy

On my old computer I could make gifs with a free package found on google (gif animation software?) but they only gave you 30 free goes then you were supposed to pay a fee (or re-register Wink ).

The results were disappointing if you tried anything over - ambitious - but potential was there!

If I ever get a decent job then yes, until that day, don't hold your hopes up Laughing

If it's in premier, is it as simple as exporting as gif or something?

yes it is, however getting the frame rate, quality, and image size right takes some fiddling.
if you've ever used premier before then its really no problem to do Smile
