Ok, simple problem. Whilst in gear and moving, the indicators don't seem to work. If the clutch is pulled in, or its in neutral, they work fine.
The indicator relay has only just been replaced, and all the indicator lights replaced just before that with pattern parts.
I thought it might be something to do with the alternator giving a bad voltage at higher revs, but it seems to work fine when in neutral for the whole rev range.
Its a peculiar problem, but I can work around it since 95% of the time when I indicator I pull the clutch in anyways for a junction or whathaveyou.
Its only a real pain when overtaking on a dual carriageway, but I don't tend to overtake all that often in a 125. Still, managed 80mph down Orwell Bridge =)
Its a Honda CBR 125 '04. I should be able to nab a multimeter at some point. Its tricky to diagnose because usually I have the road and other drivers to think about when the bike is moving
I can sometimes get them to work whilst moving in gear by keep trying to indicate then cancel with a good prod.
Anyone seen anything similar or have an ideas as to what it might be? ____________________ CBT Passed May '09 - Current Bike: Black Honda CBR125R |

With the ignition on, but the bike not running, my indicators work. So you may be able to diagnose the problem by just dropping it into gear without the bike running.
Was the relay changed for a simiar one or is it a different type? I'd check earths first. ____________________ https://www.metacafe.com/watch/1972097/how_to_behave_on_a_forum/ |

Does it have any sort of switch on the clutch to allow it to start while in gear ?
As per above and get a meter and meter out the live feed to the relay and see if it comes and goes with the clutch, or if the problem is after the relay.
Best guess is a bad earth somewhere....
Like you see on cars where the indicators stop when they brake. ____________________ Just because my bike was A DIVVY, does not mean i am...... |
