I have heard people saying before that some barbq paint works too, I have never tried it myself so I can't tell you yes or no.
The halfords stuff I have never used but if it's vht paint it should be.
Now, once you spray your exhaust run the engine for a couple of mins,or until pipe is warm but you can still touch it. This will let the first coat cure, I would do 2 coats. D the same thing with the second coat ( If the pipe gets too hot too quickly you will burn the paint and ruin it and have to start again). Run the engine for a min or two, then let it cool, then run engine to get warmer this time then turn off. then run again, go for a slow ride (low revs) let the heat build gradualy then park up and let it cool and cure properly. That should work for you. But spray thin coats. I did a Tzr125 pipe black that way turned out great. But keep an eye on it vht paint doesn't last for ever, it may start to peel after a while of mixed weathers.

it doesnt matter what you use in reguard to hi temp pain, its all in the preperation, get a wire brush attachment for your drill/grinder,
and clean all the old paint and dirt and rust off it,
then do lots of thin coats, not 1 or 2 heavy coats,
have fun. ____________________ the humans are dead
