I had my first go in a car yesterday it was my mates mini 1000 i found it very fast very scary and extremely dangerous and i would advise any one to just stick to bikes. much safer. however tonight i am going to try again.

mini's can be fun and cheep!

I loved mine to bits (and I've had a few, at one point I owned 9 at once Shocked) before coming to bikes car's where my thing!

as long as they stay standard and they are looked after they can be nice and cheep, but as soon as you start to tune them up they start to become less relighable and not cheap no more!

only own the one mini (which is in need of restoring - an old automatic one!) would like another as a fun car but the engine would be at least a turbo'd 1380 unit, but would never get rid of my big cars now!

I dunno.......the last mini I went in ended up flat! It kinda took off after hitting a curb and flew into the side of a house...mmmm, funnily enough that was a 1.3 (MG metro engine, thing flew - literally!)

My ex had a mini...we went ot bridgnorth and he forgot he was driving (the mini was the exact same colour as the RD...easy mistake to make confusing them...) and turned into an alley between two pubs.... Mmmmm - one way to put go-faster stripes down the sides!! Laughing (BTW I laughed and laughed.... he didnt!)

trust me a bike is safer than being in the car with this prat. he has been driving less than a week. hes quite skilled il give him that but lacks experience its just a matter of time before he and his mini end up in a crumpled mess. i think he scared himself though when we raced some bird in a 2 litre alfa romeo at the lights and the next corner was 90 degrees and he outbraked her and i shit myself. he nearly crashed into the back of a merc on the same stretch of road doing about 70 when the lights infront went red and the shitty drum brakes couldnt stop us intime so he drove into the left hand lane on the 1 way system and applied the handbrake to avoid the merc.

well thats all the drving experience i want i have decided the car i could afford at 17 is shit compared the bike i could get its also made me think i will be safer when i get back on my bike because there are so many wanker car drivers out there

Ever tried leaning a mk2 Escort?? I did and my bro. damn near pissed himself!! I just couldn't get used to the thing. If cars were controlled more like bikes I think drivers would have a lot more time to spend looking out for us instead of fiddling with knobs and levers Smile

Mini's are good round town, they are extreamly nippy but when it comes to the motorway I think my sisters top speed was around 75MPH. That was a few years ago though so the new ones may be faster!

Yea,

I'll never forget the humiliation of being overtaken by artics on the M1 down to Oxford in Colin...the clutch was slipping and I think at one point we were doing about 30mph up a hill in the slow lane! Embarassed

Haha, you all want a 4 yr old mini cooper, 1.3 injection!!! Never will you say minis are crap again, although it accelerates slower than the bike..... No 5th gear so motorways are a pain, but it cruises at 90mph hapily enough.
