CG125 spares & repairs

Just been rudely introduced to the world of Bike Maintenance. Having bought a nice classic 1981 CG125 I thought I had a bargain. However last night I discovered the reason it was sold without fuel was that the tank leaked through a rusty little hole hidden between the tank and the seat.

So now I am looking to either repair or replace the fuel tank. Any ideas of a source for parts for an old CG125?? Ideally somewhere in East Anglia so I can collect rather than paying hefty delivery.

Apologies if this topic is covered elsewhere - I haven't had chance to do a full search but I didn't see an answer readily available.

You could check e-bay, sometimes a seller will have a list of other parts as well as the ones they show, just look up cg125 tank. Other than that, can it be repaired as a temp measure with some chemical weld or something like that,or is the hole too big for that.

well there is one on there at the moment, but its the wrong colour. I've seen the temp weld stuff. Sounds like a bit of a nightmare to do - lots of different stages and no idea if it will work in the end.

I was hoping to get some useful contacts from the post - and then make a decision on one of the above options.

Go for the free option, tell them your bike spec and numbers and what you want. Breakers get a fax round saying what you want and if any have one they'll call you. If your very lucky it'll be one that's near to you.

There are also geographic specific forums here (no idea what Anglia comes under) so you could apply in the right one and that'll probably have some local breakers details in there.
