Hi
Cars are crash tested to ensure they are surviveable when hitting something solid. Head on. At about 35mph. So over that speed you are down to luck. No crash helmet in the world will save your head should you hit it with something solid at 45mph.
Basically hitting something at 120mph is likely to kill you, but then the same applies at 70mph, and even far lower speeds. The idea is not to hit anything.
When it comes down to it the speed is not that important when compared to whether you have an accident or not, and at the end of the day very few people have accidents at speed.
All the best
