right, so got my new bike, got the car out the way of the garage but well... i cant turn my bike round by myself....

the garage is wide enough for the bike to get round, but only if you lift it ( cant really be done on my new bike)

on my old bike, i used to put the side stand down, and just lift the back round, was only a tzr 50 so nice and easy.

Sadly this cant be done as the rubbish side stand is like an "auto spring back" thing?? i dont know iv never seen or used a bike with them, but when you put the stand down, you need to hold it there with your foot and lean the bike onto it or it will just spring back and the bike will fall over, i asume it auto springs back because it doesnt have a cut out switch if you put it in gear with the stand down.

so because of that, i cant lift the bike up to move it round, but i can get some1 to hold the bike while i lift the back round.

(also, its pretty damn hard getting it off the paddock stand since theres nothing to hold on to, no grab rail or bars, so i have to take both seats off and hold the subframe, and hope its got good balance)

any1 know a way around this?

Put your foot behind the stand when you spin it round on the stand and it won't flip up.....

You don't even have to put your foot on the kickstand just lift it up on to it and pull and up it comes.

Then spin it around

True but you do have two feet and you can stand on the side of the kickstand when you turn it, no?

Also if the spring is that bad, take the spring off.. problem solved?

yeh, that problem solved, other problem being the side stand is always down without a spring on?

just to confirm, there is no moving back and farward, just isnt enough room, less than half a meter in totall if i put the bike spot on sideways, which i cant do unless i lift it, which i also cant do Rolling Eyes

He means the weight of the bike holds the sidestand in place. You tilt the bike onto the stand side. Not exactly rocket science.

Assuming yo have room either side of the bike.

Sit on it.

Start it up.

Engage a gear.

Front brake on as hard as you can.

Put all your weight on the front, pushing the front forks down.

Rev hard, dump clutch.

Rear wheel will spin, then lean it so it will spin round.

If you have not done this before it is easier then it sounds.

Also my last bike had a suicide stand, you could easily turn it around on the stand, its not guna ping back up if there weight on it.

i see, well i cant tilt the bike onto the side stand, you need to push it into place and hold it there untill the weight of the bike holds it in place, if i try and move it while its on its stand, it will spring back up into place and possibly fall over.

ok, but you put your head under the front wheel, just to hold it in place.

You can get a little wheeled pad that goes under your rear wheel that lets you push the back end round sideways. I can't find the small rear tyre one but here is one to move the whole bike.

as you can see from the picture, the hedge has grown over half the car....

i moved the car, cut the hedge right back, moved the car right into the hedge so theres more room, so i can get in and out the garage without to much trouble, but its still rather tight.

the red line is the way in and out, just incase it wasnt obvs.

the brown represents all the shit that lives in the garage.

Why not.....

Its easy to back a bike up.

Unless you are a midget and you can't touch the floor at both sides.

From you pic, you are backing up no further than i do on my divvy Wink

Despite the fact that it's got the turning circle of an oil tanker (two lanes of road to make one turn due to steering stoppers), it's not difficult to get my NC30 tucked up in the back of the garage (a car sits in front of it every night). Even managed to fit a Blade in the same space a few years back. Sure, there's a knack to the 15 point turn to get it in place, but it only takes a minute or two.
