Do you have to take the fork arm apart to put a new seal on or can you just slide the old seal up arm and then replace it?

need to replace my seals on my XR125L

Take the forks off and take them apart is the way.Undoing the bolt at the bottom and removing your dust seasls from the top along with the wire clip that holds the seals in and using the fork tube as a slide hammer usually does the trick. Let us know how you get on!! Wink

If you don't replace the worn top and bottom bushes expect your new fork seals to last all of a week.

That's if they are worn though, if they look fine they are fine.

check for any pitting/rough spots on the forks too if any rub them down carefully, use a fine file or oil stone but dont get carried away you still need those forks

Buy your fork seals from this place www.actionseals.com take the old ones out, read the figures off the top and order a new set. They'll be cheaper than a dealership.
