So, i'm selling a 360 controller on ebay & go to put in my postage amount which will be £1.99 & guess what..... You have to offer free postage????!

P&P cost in this category can't be more than £0.00
What the hell is that about, i'm now going to lose out not only to damn paypal fees but with the postage as well.

Not to mention £30 in ebay fees when i've sold 3 bloody things.

And now i've found out that Paypal actually holds payments not just for high valuable items but for everything!

I cannot wait till the day that ebay comes second to some other auction site!

Smile

I wouldnt sell on it then. I barely see things free P&P and when I do its added into the cost of the item, the one with free p&p is always dearer than the one with postage all together. So why not do that? just add £1.99 if your doing a buy it now. I dont know what the fees are like with ebay I have never sold anything there.

I tend to find that items that are BIN don't sell as well & take much longer to sell then an auction, especially if priced a bit higher & i do all my auction as 1 day only.

I always BIN my items.

Why not advertise it on avforums.com, I now only use ebay to buy and sell bikes and incurr no final value fees (just tell ebay the auction didn't happen)

How do you do that? I've just sold my car for the measely £162. It cost £8.50 to list it, and they've taken £20 final value. How do you put down it hasn't happened to scrap the final value? When I go on the listing the only options I seem to have are 'mark as payment received', 'mark as despatched', 'leave feedback', 'contact buyer', 'resolve a problem', 'add note', and 'add to list'.

Its a fair wedge at 17.6% I've just sold an Amplifier on there for 35 so minus the fees for that and its just like my Amp has been given away to pay the fees for selling my car!

I just listed on there for the ease and speed of things, to know its going to sell on specified date, but I think with some things like with my car I'd rather just go round shops and write on their classifieds and just wait! Woulda been better to have just put it on a board for 150 and waited a week or so.

Do BIN with Best Offer option.

Price it 20% higher than what you want, then they offer 20% less as an offer. They think they've got a bargain by haggling, you haven't lost out. Thumbs Up

Just remember to set 'auto decline bids less than £X' to save you having to bother with timewasters offering 20p for a £20 item.

Strike up a relationship with the buyer, always helps if they are collecting and just ask them if it is okay to tell ebay the auction didn't take place. Feedback still stays and you don't have a amrk put against you or anything like that. I've done it a ridiculous amount of times and I'll be doing it for the firestorm I just sold on eBay. Laughing

It only works if the other ebayer agrees though and you only get one chance to do it so you have to ask him if it's okay if he could do it for you.
