hi,

just thought i would ask, what is the difference between usd and rwu forks? other than the obvious??

I always assumed usd forks were better? being that race teams all use them...but now honda have made the cbr600rr supposable the best handling bike on the road, and it uses rwu forks?, now they went all out on that bike...so i take it they wouldn't have got to the front and ran out of money Laughing

also the new blade has rwu forks? and there race teams bsb and wsb use the same kit? showa rwu forks?

USD = upside down

RWU = right way up

I don't think either are particularily better, but then all the ohlins and bitubo stuff are USD so go figure...

and the thread title made me laugh, "front forks" like ya get rear forks? Razz

Hi

The USD forks are stronger. The point where there is the greatest stress is just under the bottom Yoke and with normal forks there is just the strength of the inners at that point. With usd forks there is the strength of both the inner and the outer. USD forks are also meant to result in slightly less unsprung weight. However I am not so sure about that, and normal forks are lighter overall, plus easier to brace together.
