Hey

Earlier on I was out walking my parents German Shephard puppy. At one point I was stroking here after playing fetch with her for a while when on my neck I felt something like a needle prick. I brushed it off with my fingers and had a look at it, it had a bit of blood inside the body and was black, I'd say just bigger than a sewing needle head.

I'm thinking it was a flea, but could it also have been a tick? Is there any risk of anything, like say Lyme disease from it?

Ultimate paranoia but hey.

Cheers.

i would guess at a flea mate. ticks have round flat bodies which swell up with blood. also if you need to turn the body counter clockwise when pulling it off or its head will stay attached to your skin. HTH Thumbs Up

Tick for sure ... the black (actually very dark grey) will be the old blood .... that it sucked from some HIV infected lepper earlier on.

I'd go with it being a flea or even a midge? They are both black and little. Laughing

Think a tick is unlikely, only because you don't normally feel them until they're in and then you wouldn't be able to just knock them out - they kinda 'screw' themselves in and as such you have to 'unscrew' them to get them out Shocked

........anyway Jon B (BA Hons) man up and grow some Mr. Green

Charlie bit you...

If it is a tick, then make sure the all the legs are out or it could get infected.

You could always get typhus from a tick or at worst tick borne encaphilitis of which there is no cure...

There are 10000000s of the things in Siberia each night I've been camping (which has been numerous of late) I've had to remove them from fleshy exposed bits from when I put up my tent. Those 5 quid tick twisters are well worth the money.

That as well as the mozzies, the midges etc which make Scotland look like a cakewalk , you see huge clouds of mozzies .

Sounds like it might have been the barb from a wasp or bee sting to me.

Not big enough to be a flea and ticks don't fly, they drop off leaves and stuff down inside boots and jacket collars etc.

Other than that, check your teeth, backs of hands and finger nails. If you feel a strange attraction to the neck of pure blooded virgins; find a wooden stake and drive it through your own heart.
