Have you heard that a new batch of 20p's have been made and released without dates on them ?

You can contact a coin company and send them off for £50 in return, or put them on ebay. This auction is currently up to £127 !!

holy crap I had or still have loads of coins with the design and no date, I found it odd as it was new looking with of date. Off to hunt out the change jar!

question on that page:

Q: How have you managed to photograph both sides of the same coin in a single photo? 29-Jun-09
A: hi i had more than one coin, but this is the last one i have to sell. thank you

Better idea: 50 quid is not life changing. Save them. Sell them in 10 years.

I know its not life changing but its 25000% profit.

Yeah keeping hold of them may be the better idea. But dont go and cash them into your newsagents to pay for the daily star.

So people are genuinely paying good money for these?

Are they going to take them out of circulation or something? If yeah, then fair play they are a rarity. If not, I don't see what's to stop a collector going into the bank and getting £100 changed into 20p coins on the off chance that one of them fits the bill rather than paying a silly amount for one of them on ebay with the bonus that you can cash all but the one that matches back and it's only cost you 20p.

Also on the flip side, there'd be nothing to stop some opportunistic bugger doing the same but with the intention of selling it in the end - much better odds than lottery scratchcards anyway! Wink

www.undated20p.com/

Might explain things. there were possibly 200,000 20p coins released into circulation without the date on them

Hi,
The postage seems a little excessive, would you be prepared to drop to a £1?
