But in all seriousness, I can't go more than about 30 mins before getting a sore botty. I HAVE to get off the bike after about an hour .... I am certainly moving about on the saddle even after just 20 mins to try and get more comfy!

How far can you go before you get a bony bum?

Anyone got any ideas why some suffer more than others? Is it a circulation issue?

Is there anything I can do to increase my saddle duration?

EDIT ok i was abit short ...duration for me about 2hrs average depending on the journey. As for increasing the staminer of your arse, i'd say it's abit like the seat on a pushbike, you get used to it the more you ride.

I definitely find that town riding knackers me within about half an hour on the Gixxer. Arms ache, neck aches, arse aches etc.

If I go out for a 'ride' though it's usually a hell of a lot longer, normally well over an hour before I feel any sort of aching and need to stop for a cuppa.

My CB-1 on the other hand, I could spend all day on that and still feel fine, my ZXR was the same really, would of thought being on a bigger bike would make things a bit easier but it seems to be the reverse.

To be fair I have the same problem (granted I'm only on a CG), I can go for about an hour then it starts to get uncomfortable. My right leg especially though that's because my footpeg is bent on that side and my foot sits twisted in order to use the brake

I've been thinking about getting some gel pads inserted into my seat as well. Can anyone that's had it done let us know if its worth it?

I get stiiff (oeer) and sore after about 20mins lol, but thats down to a fooked back and discs. but have done 300miles before now on a big vibey single with a seat like a plank. Padded cycle shorts can help aswell.

I started to suspect the seat shape actually restricts circulation or something.

I find it's my wrists and hands that hurt on the SV rather than my bathing suit area. That and after three hours of motorway my hands are numb.

SWMBO, however, staggers around like a croquet hoop for about 20 minutes after she gets off the pillion seat.

Bike seats are wierd, I've always found bikes with harder seats to be more comfortable, I've got no issues at all with the SP1's plank, my knees generally start giving in within a few hours of riding but that's about it. Try gripping the tank harder and taking a little more weight on the pegs perhaps?

I've never had problems with my bike seats - motorbikes that is... my push bike seats cause me no end of grief! Maybe that's coz they are pushing on the points where my bones would be if not for my fat arse!

But then I need my fat arse, as the saying goes:
"A long nail needs a big hammer"

The seats are renowned for causing pain on the inside of the thighs / bum interface area. ( )

I reckon you could get a nicer seat. As an aside I did 511 miles on saturday and my arse was okay although the Bandit has an infinitely better seat design.
