my hornet 600 needs a good service. i have it de-restricted at the moment.

if i take it for a service will they find out it is de-restricted?
also if they do, will they look at my licence or anything then inform the police???

dont want to risk my bike or my licence.

advice would be much appreciated.

Hugely unlikely they'd grass you up, besides the fact why would they even ask if you have a restricted licence. You'll be fine.

If you're that worried about losing your licence I would suggest complying with the terms of your licence, not that it's much of a fun answer but hey it's probably the right one.

It won't even cross their mind that you're on a restricted license. Just do it.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

they're there to change your plugs, oil etc.

not to check your licence and to see if you have your restriction washers fitted. Thumbs Up They'll just get on with the work they've been told to do.

i'd probably go on a killing spree if the cops took my bike from me haha.

I had my bike restricted, and then derestricted it myself. (Small garage btw, but the one I always use).

Few months later was having it serviced and got a phone call.
"Hi, erm, is this the bike we restricted a while ago?"
"....no"
"Come on, be honest, I ain't bothered if your legal"
"Yeah ok then, it was Embarassed "
"Oh okay, it's just that whoever derestricted it didn't do it properly, but I'll do it now for another £20"
*me silent*
"We won't put it on the recept, just cash in hand"
"Yes please, sounds good Very Happy"

Regarding your other thread, about your bike getting very hot;

Maybe you missed a bit of the restriction. Did you have an FI kit fitted, and if so, what does it say next ti "Device:" on your certificate? If it says Inlet Blade + Carb Cap, then it'll be the same as mine was done.

Have a look at the end of THIS THREAD I made when I did mine. Did you have any of those to remove?

yeah on the FI certificate it just says inlet blades in the carb rubbers, i just popped them out.
nah i didnt have the 4 plastic tubes on the diaphragm.
i think its just a straight forward restriction, just the weather was hot and i was going at a very low speed, thats why the temperature shot up.
