 |
|
Hi,
Tried to Google this but with no real luck.
What is the under seat storage like on an SV650SK8 2008?
Is it easy and quick enough to get to? So that accessing it to retrieve a disc lock/chain when parking up is not a total pain?
What size is it, would storing an Almax III 0.7m chain and lock be possible?
Thanks ____________________ Say, do you have any Gatorade? I'm afraid I left all my electrolytes with your daughter.

An alarm seems to take up a lot of the space under a bike seat. |

Cheers, that would be great.
If you could stick something in the pick as a scale that would be really useful

OT, but...
I was startled at the amount of underseat storage on the Z...
with the pillion seat on I can fit 3 pot noodles and a chain, or, two big bars of chocolate, a 12 pack of sharwoods noodles, a box of condoms, a bottle of soy sauce, some tropicana (the small bottles you get), a can of coke and a pack of ciggies...
With the pillion seat cover on I reckon even more as it frees up a lot more vertical space!! Amazing.
If practical is your thing, blates get a z750  ____________________ GS125-> NT400->VFR400->CRM250->Z750 + GS125->NTV650 rat + VMX1200->GSF600 + GPz550 |

The space is indeed pathetically tiny, I've seen supersports with more room under the rear seat. Just getting my Scottoiler in was nightmarish and removed about a third of the remaining space.
A large part of the problem is the fact the fuse box sits right in the middle of the compartment, so bear that in mind if you're planning to try and cram something in on top of it under a cowling. You can just move the fusebox, as it does just slide off the two slats that hold it... but the wires don't let it go too far.
Given you'll be excommunicated from the SV brotherhood for fitting a top box you might wanna invest in a nice backpack for your shopping. ____________________ Previous: 2002 Honda CB500 (sold), 2007 Suzuki SV650SK6 (crashed), 2005 Yamaha FZ6 Fazer (sold). Currently bikeless

Cheers for the extra pics, the bike I'm getting has a scottoiler fitted so I'll have to see how much space is left. Playing around with my 1.5m Almax makes me think it might just fit, but we'll have to see.
As for shopping I've got a 10L Krieger and numerous rucksacs so trips to Tescos shouldn't see too much of a problem ____________________ Say, do you have any Gatorade? I'm afraid I left all my electrolytes with your daughter.

I manage a rain suit, puncture gear, spare gloves, almax chain and lock, disc lock, small army type camping stove, set of dixies, and can fit in a full face helmet when I park. But then I'm not a real biker only a stoopid scooterist with no sense!!!!
