Any ideas how you can derestrict this moped. I had one when i was younger that topped at 60mph, my friends isn't quite as quick.

Is this a simple job?

could be a simple job... these are the restriction methods...

Arrow inlet blades - 4 washers in the carb rubbers between the carbs and the engine. toull need to take off everything in the way so you can get to the carbs, then lift the carbs up and pull the washers out of the holes.

Arrow carb restrictors - 4 cylinders that sit in the top of the carburettor to restrict the movement of the slides, just open top of carbs and pull out. these sometimes go with inlet blades.

Arrow exhaust restrictors - there will be some metal washers in the exhaust headers, they will most probably be spot welded in place to hold them steady, just grind the spot weld off and remove washers.

Arrow main jets - the main jets could be changed. you will need to get it re-jetted. common in 2 strokes

id look for the exhaust restrictors first...

hope this helps

The only restriction I've come across is a washer in the expansion chamber of the exhaust. It's a bit messy trying to remove it with the cutting & welding so a lot of owners just fit a race can instead.
If you go down that road, the Arrow or Gianelli exhausts are the one's that aprilla riders rave about, also do an up-jet & an air filter.
