I am just doing my direct access, but I find most bikes to heavy and too high. I am only little and need something light and with a low seat height. Any suggestions?

CBR400s if you can find a decent one, renowned for low seat height. I had two, lovely and light, easy to handle.

Most cruisers have low seat height.

But to be honest, I thought the same as you when I was doing my DAS, but it really is mind over matter, you only need one toe down.

I now ride a big chunky GSXR750, I'm 5' 1" with a 28" inside leg.

cbr125's are low and fast,
cb600 hornets are low, ive seen one short guy who had the seat scooped out and re-shaped and that lowered it by about 1 - 2 inches.

thats all i have experience in to be honest.

If you can find a cb400 (cb1 or superfour) you are sorted. Quite good for short women and great looking for an old naked bike, unfortunately they are a bit rare, particularly in good condition.
Saw one recently in my area, brilliant condition superfour, sold for £995, I was gutted as I had to fork my cash over for a weekend away instead. Expect to pay a bit more than that for a decent one.

Quite a few of the small CC japs are low down, particularly those aimed at the Japanese short-arsed market. Happy hunting. Thumbs Up

Definitely. Riding the CBR's built my confidence and allowed me to move on from worrying about seat height/bike weight.

You need to find a bike you are comfortable paddling around (a cruiser-type would probably be ideal, if you like that style of course) get used to it, built up some basic strength in your upper body (through moving the bike around, not bench-presses or anything! Laughing ) and legs, I'm sure you'll soon find you feel confident enough to try different height/weight bikes. Thumbs Up

Oh and if anyone offers you a sit on their bike, accept! It's the best way of discovering what bikes suit your build/riding position. You might find you'll be surprised.

I must stop this shameless plugging but my GPZ's for sale and that's very shorty friendly, and it's light.

i would Hornet but yamaha 125 is better

WHAT Yamaha 125?!? Brick Wall

You don't have to post for the sake of it you know.

She asked in her original post for a bike after her DAS. Therefore I doubt she's looking for a 125, scooter, bike whatever. Rolling Eyes

Both the kawasaki ER6 and suzuki sv650 have low seat heights.
Lower seats and dogbone lowering kits are available for a reasonable price too.

I kind of have the same problem, I am only 5'5ish and find many bikes too high for me. I find the GSXR600 K6 very low compared to other models, especially the R6 where I can only get a toe down. Its quite light aswell. My friend she is only 4'10 and she rides the Ninja400 which she gets along with fine

Im a girl so like having a fairly light bike although im not really short or anything but I have a Kawasaki ER-6f (which is quite low) which I can get both feet easily on the ground.

Also Triumph bikes can be lowered dramatically. My mate has a Street Triple R which she got lowered and can be lowered up to 4 inches if I heard right and might also be worth asking about other bikes to find out if they can be lowered.

My wife is quite small and after doing her DAS she found the Suzuki SV650 to be perfect for her.

I'd have to agree with mudskipper,a CBR400 is perfect for those of a short nature and they feel really light and nimble too.

If you like cruisers, Virago or Dragstar (if you can find one) definitely, after my SV the 250cc Dragstar felt like a toy! Very low.

You can get bikes lowered, a young lass in work has her GS500 lowered to suit her lack of stature. Sometimes just a lower seat will do it.
