Yup, I find my Blade a bit too hot during the warmer weather. Even with leathers on my shins can get uncomfortably hot and it doesn’t take long for the heat to creep through the seat and start boiling my spuds, especially at urban speeds.

Hence this week I’m riding my RXS100. It’s light, cool and has no fairing to divert the cooling breezes. I went for a blast on the Blade last night after dark to get my big bike fix, but the RXS100 is my steed of choice for the daylight hours.

The heady smell of hot two stroke oil is an added benefit. Very Happy

Muscle bikes get very hot when riding in this heat. I even check my jeans/textiles when at the lights now and then for melting etc. Laughing

Honda's generally run very hot. My legs were getting baked and then my scrotum was getting nicely poached by the fuel tank. There is NOWHERE in central london where you can do more than 80mph at any given time, since it's the speed where my temp will read less than 89 deg C and also when I get some cooling effect through the perforrations.

I rode back at 70 mph tonight with my visor open, I just couldn't get enough fresh air to concentrate.

I was out in jeans the other day instead of the usual leathers, the heat when in town was almost unbearable on my Varadero.

Pussies. You should see how hot an air cooled bike gets!

Two words I never thought I'd see in the same sentence.

But yeah, my right leg (only the right) gets baking if I'm riding in just jeans. I find if you stick your leg out like your trying to get knee down it helps to cool it.

Especially when trying to go up a very steep muddy hill, getting stuck after having spent ages trying to kickstart it.

I'm gonna buy all you girls a nice pair of panties to put your delicate vaginas in Smile

You don't know hot til you've ridden in 50c in full kit over the top of long work pants and shirt.
That day was so hot that when I opened the visor for some fresh air the wind was so hot it hurt my eyes and it was cooler to have my jacket zipped up and visor down.

I swear I must have shed kilos just on that 20 minute ride home.
Anymore would seriously have been pushing it.

So man up fags Cool

The other day I was coming over Neville's Cross in Durham and I got stuck in traffic pretty much from as soon as I left he centre of Durham....the VFR wasn't happy. The further I went up the bank the higher the temperature gauge went.

After I got over Neville's Cross I didn't half whack the throttle open just to get moving and have some lovely cool air flowing into my helmet and onto my bike.

Needless to say in this weather I have started riding with my visor open.

I wonder what it's like riding naked?? Hmm.... LOL

I ride virtually every day of the year.

But when its touching 30C, my 10 year old Mondeo, with Air Con does have its plus points.

I can feel my ER5's engine heating my legs as I ride at the moment, even if I'm doing a ton I can still feel the heat.

But then I just man up and deal with it..

I sold it ages ago. IMO it's too fast for the road. It made big speed far too easy. Smile

Tempted by another just for the noise, but the crap sidestands and risk of getting caught put me off slightly.

I find I am not as manic as I was on the 636, I drove the 636 like a big 2t! I just always wanted to be in the power thus I would scream it everywhere... I'm happy trundling along on the RSV and just rolling on the very accessible power when I need/feel like it.

The soundtrack is amazing! But I do sometimes miss the buzz of an IL4. As for the sidestand, what an appalling design for such a well made bike! You can bolt a CBR600 side stand straight on which is something I will have to invest in.
