i take it you mean this one

https://www.candasuperbikes.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=49&products_id=482

which is the 690SM

and not the RC4 which is a concept model that has been spy shotted (tis basically a supermono racebike for the road)

[/pedant]

i've not ridden one of those but i'd expect like all big singles it'll be a bit viby at speed and might take a bit of getting used to from an IL4

Supermoto or enduro? Either way I'm going to go with 'fun'.

it will be different. more low down thump, not as much top end as a twin . I believe the 690 will do nearly 120mph . I assume you want it to mono on, good choice . . .

edit. not ridden a 690 only a 620. also singles are vibey but it never bothers me

I've got a 690Enduro - a lighter version, with trail wheels; however I've had supermoto wheels on mine.

It's fun alright, but most of the fun comes from the relative lack of power.
Don't be fooled be the 'loads of low down power' thing. If you want the affect of loads of low down power on a bike of this capacity, get a Triumph 675, gear it so top gear does 110mph; you'll find you have more 'go' in every gear than any single!

I bought my 690 for it having an engine that could both do fairly relaxed motorway cruising and still handle competing in a Hare and Hounds race.
If it wasn't for the off-road element, an SV650 with minor tweaks will do pretty much everything the same unless you ride like a complete nutter. And I don't mean doing wheelies and stoppies; I mean getting your pegs (after you've raised the ride height and are hanging off loads) down every corner and turning in very quickly.
I know I definitely didn't reach the limits of an SV's turn-in speed when racing one on track, so the extra that the lighter KTM offers isn't going to do anything*.
*That's one of the major advantages that the bike offers, being a bit lighter weight it should be able to turn in quicker as well as corner a little quicker; however there's not that much difference in weight and you can make an SV quite a lot lighter.

I'm sure the KTM will feel a lot nicer than a stock SV, but the same could be done with, say £500 worth of work.

My SV is not stock Razz

And the best thing is I bought it like it!

Nitron Racing Shock
Gsxr 600 Front end
Slightly Downgeared
Art full race exhaust
Some lovely Pirelli Diablo's (I rate them)
Blueprinted engine - but its 33bhp at the mo!

Im not replacing - i want a 2nd bike!

What exactly are you wanting from this second bike?
What will you be using it for, etc?
The KTM seems too close to what the SV could be (in your case, wider bars and a lower attitude, with a half-derestriction) to justify spending the sort of silly money you have to on one.
