I had to turn off two local radio stations this morning, because they were "celebrating" american independance day. WHY? Mad

These days it almost seems wrong to celebrate St George day,but nobody seems to stop and think what these idiots are realy celebrating on july 4.

Does anyone else find this annoying?

Because the UK is effectively a mercenary country to the US these days , hence we HAVE to celebrate it.

It's a big day in America today.

I heard Hawaii is having a huge firework display, supplied by the North Koreans I believe.

Well Independence Day does mean something to Britain you know. Or do you not even know what independence day is all about?

radio stations have to think of things to do to entertain people, doing something topical about stuff like 4th july seems like obvious laziness

no one here gives a shit about 4th of july, but its something to fill the airwaves with

Maybe they should be celebrating it from our perspective then as the day we got rid of the stupid talking, redneck hillbillies, worth the loss in taxes? you decide.

Don't personally see why any radio station should celbrate it, most countries have a national day.
