I`m setting off for Faro at noon tommorrow. I amended my orginal plan of going via france/Germany. So now I`m going via the portsmouth - bilbao ferry Tuesday night. I should be in Lisbon by Friday night to meet friends for the weekend.
As for doing Faro on an ER-5 go for it, so long as its reliable, people have done it on all manner of bikes from redical chopped Harleys, old BSA`s to honda C90 step thru`s. the Extreme Trifle crew did it on a bunch of chopped C90`s see https://www.extremetrifle.com/3/cheesyrider_index.php
you`ll need at least 2+ weeks to do the round trip. if your going via france, add 2-3 days travel each way.
Its a party like no other. with the oppotunity to win yourself a new bike, or a weeks holiday to daytona bike week** as part of the ticket price
**guess who won the holiday in 2006 worth over £3k?? ____________________ I accept no responsibility for swearing, drinking, motorcycle riding or your pregnant teenage daughter. |

Very cool - hope you have a blast. Already got my flights (and it's a bit late in the day) otherwise I'd think about it...
Doubtful we'll bump into each other but you never know! |

Well after getting off the Bilbao ferry thirsday morning, I headed down to Salamanca covering 254 miles, to camp over night, before heading west friday towards Portugal. After 318 miles and 6.5hrs riding from salamanca down the A23/IP2, I`m sat on the balcony of a mates appartment in Sisimbra (south of Lisbon) chillin` with a strong coffee, watching the holiday makers preparing to head to the beach for the day. I`ve just loaded up the Zumo with a tour of some of Lisbons major tourist attraction, and I`m heading off into the madness of Lisbons traffic soon. Though on the way here I crossed the main north/south bridge out of Lisbon and found myself in the outside lane riding on the steel decking, fvck me it was like riding on ice, only later did I realise that I shouldn`t have been in the outside lane on that bridge.
Monday/tuesday** should see me heading the 180 miles down to Faro ready for the Partyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
**so I should have internet access till then ____________________ I accept no responsibility for swearing, drinking, motorcycle riding or your pregnant teenage daughter. |
