I've tried fairly hard to find a manual for this bike and failed.
I'll just say that I have never seen a motorcycle with an oil change LED. Technology may have changed because your bike is newer than any I've worked on but oil lights on motorbikes are usually a warning light to tell you you have either low oil level or low oil pressure.
They usually come on with the ignition to show the light itself is working then go off when you start the engine to show there is sufficient oil/oil pressure.
An oil warning light staying on with the engine running is telling you the oil level or pressure is dangerously low, you should immediately stop the engine and don't run it again until you've rectified the problem.
I hope I'm wrong and it's just a service light but please be sure. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”
I did the 2010 Round Britain Rally on my 350 Bullet. 89 landmarks, 3 months, 9,500 miles. |

Hi Deltic,
Thank you very much for the information......spot on
and worked 1st time.
Still trying to figure out how it knows when 2,500 miles have elapsed as speedo is analogue
ie does it come at 2,500 5,000 7,500 etc or 2,500 miles after you reset.
I suspect the latter as my first service was late (2,850) and oil change light came on at 5,350ish.
BTW, read the manual twice and never noticed this.
Will re-check page 19.
Cheers,
Steve |
