Hello, I was think of getting a new bike now my restriction has ended, i currently have a CB500. Where as this has been a good bike, it just seams not enough go with it any more, seems quite slow and hard work around town having to change gear all the time.

I will be wanting something that is capable of cruising on the motorway easily, and doesn't need to be rev'd that much in town, i.e can stay in 3rd and have enough power to not feel bogged down.

I was looking a VFR 800, as there is one for 1500 off my dads mate, but dont know if it would be suited to what i need.

Dont really mine if it has fairing or not, but fairing would help with the motorway issue.

Also i have around 1500 quid to spend.

Older Gixxer six? CBR600F? Are you after similar power delivery to your CB, just more power? Or thinking of changing to a sportsbike? SV650 will have a bit more grunt, and is a popular choice, and a hornet 6 is a natural step up from your CB.

Surely you should be keeping it in 2nd round town? (i own the same bike and am possibly wrong, but on my CB it won't be hitting high revs in 2nd until 50-60mph, and can get right to 70 if you're willing to redline it)

If yours is the CB500S it has half-fairing, if it's the vanilla CB500 it doesn't.
