Personally i would change the gearing to give better acceleration.
I'd rather have better acceleration than top end,but then i dont really see the point of doing over a ton on the road.
Other than the basics like filters-exhaust system-jetting e.t.c... it starts getting expensive to the point it would be cheaper to buy a faster bike...
Just my worth anyway.

I meant changing the jets in the carb to suit the mods you do..(i would imagine you'd have to do that with the k&n filter?) ____________________ DRZ-400sm |

If you are a novice, you should stick to standard. 120 is fast even for the experienced on todays crowded and poorly surfaced roads.
Even your lowly CB500 should outpace most things with 4 wheels under acceleration and once in front just stay there.
Enjoy the ride. ____________________ JOIN IN THE BIGGEST RIDE-OUT OF 2007 here |

By far the best value way to get a faster bike I'm afraid, is to get a faster bike!
Depending on the state and age of your CB, you could probably sell it and buy a significantly faster bike for the cost of a couple of minor mods to the CB.
You could always restrict the faster bike, then derestrict it a little at a time to give the same affect as tuning the CB without any of the extra cost .
You'll also have the bonus that you should get better handling too. |

A 'performance' filter will offer no performance increase to a (clean) standard filter unless you at least up the jetting and prob do something to the rear end. (as in the other side of the engine ) |
