Tell me about speed triples

Considering next bikes, train of thought led me to speed 4s, then a bit more research showed speed triples cost basically the same so the S4 idea's forgotten.

I'd have 1.5-2k to spend around January, I reckon I can get a 2000ish one for that, insurance comes in at 250 odd tpft (4 points and a claim )

Looking at the history it looks like mostly incremental changes, enines change every now and again, though I'm not all that fussed by power, they're presumably all decent blocks, and none of the other changes jump out at me as that important. I prefer the later multi spoke wheels to the 3 spoke ones, not hugely fussed though.

Anyway, opinions, what year has different bits that matter, how are they to live with. MPG/running costs and big milage wise, and more interestingly, what are they like to ride, and whats the build quality.

Finally prices, what do you reckon

They make a lovely noise!

My dad has just bought a 09 speed triple in White with titanim arrow exhausts and it sounds sweet.

Good bike overall too, braided lines as standard, brembo brakes, metzeler Tyres, single sided swing arm, proper good looking bike. !

Don't know about the older ones mind !

I had a go on it though and it dont feel no where near as powerfull as my ninja....

My first older brother passed his test last year and has just spent 9 grand on a triple with extras , 700 miles on clock,

Its his first bike, its supposed to be forgiving a little on a new rider, which im glad to hear, aswell as it not being as rapid as half the bikes you lot have !

Oh, and i think they and his expecially, look the DOGS ! imo.

So now older older brother has swapped his 3/400 cc honda moped in part exchange for a cd/cb 1000.

And now me being the youngest, well im getting a bonny and trailer for me and my Molly ! lol
