Hi all, I have a ZXR 400L with a small chain problem. When the chain is going round, I can hear something slap or rattle as the chain revolves. The chain has been checked and tightened, any ideas?
Cheers

Something like that, yeah. Still - it did teach me the joys of chain lube. Very Happy

Hi

There should probably be a small amount of movement in the sprocket.

However check that the chain does not have a tight spot.

All the best

you will need to change both your chain and sprockett, otherwise expect whatever you change to wear out quite quickly Sad

as kickstart said check the tension at the tightest spot, too tight a chain is allot worse than too loose and will kill chains and sprocketts very quickly

My NS125R's front sprocket has a little movement in it and it's new so i thinks they're designed like that, my back one has no movement. just remember to lube it about every 250 miles if it needs it. you are supposed to change your chain and sprockets at the same time but if the old parts are in good nick i would just save the money.
