What is your favourite film and why? I want justifications and solid reasons.

Mine is True Romance has been for about 4/5 years now.

Directed by Tony Scott and written by Quentin Tarantino, (There is a version directed by Tarantino in Pulp Fiction Style.)

It has an amazing Cast and a brilliant story, it has comedy, action, romance, gangsters and Kung Fu Films!

The music is amazing done by Hans Zimmer,

The Cast

You would be lucky to get 2 or 3 of these guys in a flick let alone all of these.

Christian Slater
Patricia Arquette
Dennis Hopper
Val Kilmer
Gary Oldman
Brad Pitt
Christopher Walken
Samuel L. Jackson
James Gandolfini
Chris Penn
Tom Sizemore

Lost in Translation.

I love how when I watch it I feel like I'm in Japan. I can relate to being in a city alone with nothing much to do. I can feel the connection between the characters. I love the way it's filmed - seeing what they see, so you feel like you're there. Love it! Smile

Aliens.

Because its the best fucking film ever, bar none.

That and 25 years on it still scares me.

Directed by James Cameron (god)

Sigorney Weaver stars in it (id kill to do bad things to her)

And this quote
Quote:
Hudson: Hey Vasquez, have you ever been mistaken for a man?
Vasquez: No. Have you?

The thing about these movies that stands out most for me is the Interceptor, it's the best movie car ever made imo. Smile

I don't have a favourite film because I have too many different genres I like, and it wouldn't be fair to single out one film above all the rest.

It was a hard enough decision to choose Voodoo People as my top track, but it won the day, because it doesn't matter what mood I'm in, I can always listen to it.

The Hunger

I'm a big Bowie fan, liked the change in styles and the whipping noise when they killed.

Predator.

I just love the whole claustrophobic atmosphere of the jungle, and the massive tension that John McTiernan builds up in the film.

It's also gory, has big guns, explosions, and some great one liners Thumbs Up

Hmm thats a hard one.

Probably Pulp Fiction, closely followed by Star Wars a new hope.

Pulp fiction is just an enjoyable movie. It has depth, but its not too arty. It has violence but its not too gory, and it has a LOT of humour.

Star wars is just the original and best. All the others feel a bit like pale imitations IMO.

V for Vendetta and the Matrix are also very good as they make you think about the status quo instead of blindly accepting it.

at the time matrix, hard boiled, and fight club, were pretty amazing

however films that were completely revolutionary at the time, dont tend to have the same impact at a later date

there are a lot of good films, but not many that are really wow

of recent films, id say the wrestler was pretty close to wow

Dumb & Dumber - never fails to make me smile and be happy.

Harry: Where did you get those?
Lloyd: I bought them when we filled up.
Harry: We are supposed to talk about all expenditures Lloyd! We are on a very tight budget.
Lloyd: This didn't come out of our travel fund.
Harry: Oh.
Lloyd: Yeah, I was able to raise 25 extra bucks before we left.
Harry: Where did you get 25 extra becks?
Lloyd: I sold some stuff, to Billy in 4C.
Harry: The blind kid?
Lloyd: Yeah, ha ha! Yeah.
Harry: What did you sell him Lloyd?
Lloyd: Stuff.
Harry: What kinda stuff?
Lloyd: I don't know, a few baseball cards, a sack of marbles,
[cough]
Lloyd: Petey.
Harry: Petey? You sold my dead bird to a blind kid? Lloyd! Petey didn't even have a head!
Lloyd: Harry, I took care of it...
[cuts to shot of Billy's hands stroking the stiff bird with it's head wrapped in scotch tape]
Billy: Pretty bird. Yes, can you say pretty bird? Pretty bird, yeah pretty bird... Polly want a cracker?

Black Hawk Down.

Simply epic, action for a good 2 and a half hours with gore, guns and explosions.

Anchorman. Because quite simply, Ron Burgundy is the balls.

And Dawn of the Dead 1978. Because I would love to be in their situation, regardless of the obvious futility of it.
