I'd guess at the RS being ever so slightly quicker. But you probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Go for what you can get at a decent price or what you prefer the look of. Performance wise the RS will marginally be faster. At the expense of being less reliable.

Hi
RS is quicker as its slightly more tuned, though this means the engine dosnt last as long.

I thought the NSR could pull away faster due to lower gearing?

Ah who cares anyway Laughing

Hi

The NSR has lower gearing and probably should be maginally better from a standstill. From a rolling start at about 10mph I would expect the RS to be far quicker.

The NSR and the RS have fairly good brakes as standard. RS ones are probably marginally better, but as standard have not that much feel. Put some EBC HH pads into an RS and the brakes are superb (but I would not recommend these pads to someone getting an RS as a first bike as they make the brakes very sharp).

All the best

Keith

I've had a go on the NSR and I own an RS125, and to be honest even though one may have a technological edge it will only be slight, usually it's down to the rider's weight, gear change skill and whether or not they've kept the bike in good shape.

I used to worry about this until I had a go on a 400. Made me realise how futile it was to go after the quickest 125, might as well get something cheap that looks good and worry about 0-60's after you've passed your test.

My opinion anyhow Wink
