Suggestions on a cheap/free top box

Looking for a cheap top box for my TW 125

It has the platform for a proper top box but just want somthing i can bolt to it, somthing very much cheapness.

Some kind of plastic packing crate will do it if you can find one.
If you can't get one for free, then look for a place doing them and ask them about cosmetic seconds/returns. Make sure you get a proper industrial one, not a dodgy supermarket one.

Or well, any other reasonably rigid box you can find. An autolock style tie down does well to hold the lid down generally.

May be worth adding an extra base-plate layer to hold it.

Lots on ebay, but postage adds up and they're generally sold in larger quantities - so see if there's any places close to you.

Or, of course, keep an eye out on local classifieds, or try asking on freecycle for 'real' top boxes. Most will be fine if you're just going to bolt them on, but as above, an extra base-plate may be worth while.

The ones you buy from supermarkets tend to be a lot flimsier... though I have seen this type being used for the 'home delivery' stuff, but you won't be getting a decent one officially either way .

Depends how cheap. There is a bloke from the netherlands selling a load of 38ltr top boxes on ebay

If you look in his other items he has loads of them. I managed to get one for £5 last week + £10 postage and it turned up yesterday.

You get what you pay for to some degree but for £15 i thought it was an absolute bargain. You can get a full face lid and a bit more in there too.

How big do you need it to be? I have a GIVI E26 if you're interested... if I remember rightly it'll just about fit a full face helmet. Give me a pm if you're interested... I have pics.

Well i went for a an old CD case i used to have.

Just attached it to my bike, it all i need when i nip to the shops to pick up basic things, put my laptop, camera in it etc.

Will take a photo when i get a moment of the bike with the Jim'll fix it top box
