Morning!

I need some practical advice...

I've had my 600 for over a year now and am comfortable with it's limits and such. The problem I have is I can't seem to get my knee down.

Thing is, it's not my confidence that is lacking, I love leaning the bike right over and a few times have managed to get my toe-sliders to kiss tarmac. My problem is that each time I try to shift my body weight around (hanging one arse cheek off) to get my knee out I end up upsetting the balance of the bike and end up wiggling about like an idiot and messing up the whole thing....

Any tips????

Many thanks! Very Happy

Make sure you aren't taking the pics though, that might make things a bit more complicated for you Wink

Watch the reacers.... they hang off /before/ they lean. Seperate the two and you won't upset the balance of the bike.

Oh, and make sure the ball of your foot is on the peg with your foot facing forwards.
Your toe shouldn't be going down!

Good advise posted here telling you all you need to know. I learnt to get my knee down whilst racing, not for the sake of doing it but it happened whilst trying to find a position that would let me carry more corner speed. Now I only ride on the road, I rarely get my knee down to aid speed, i'm just posing! Understanding body positioning certainly does help with riding on the road though. I just personally feel that unless the bend is wide and fast (as pictured in my web link, nice bend that) the 'racing knee down' position is a little too committed for most bends you will find on public roads.

The only advice I would give is don't get too desperate, make sure that your concentration is focused on the bend and getting around it and experiment with different body positions gradually.

If you're in Surry, why not pop down to boxhill sometime when we're going down there?

I'm sure someone will be able to offer some pointers.
