Just reading my daughters report, and in the literacy section its says:

Quote:
five minutes a day would be most beneficial than trying to learn a lot in one go.

Shouldn't that be:

is 3's good? this is one of the things I'm emailing the head about (who signed of the report) as there is no explanation as to what the grades mean.

Doesn't really do much good when your 10 year old is pointing out mistakes in the report including her gender, its hard to then turn round an say teacher knows best Very Happy

I corrected a teacher's spelling at my son's parent evening and she didn't take it well.

I had to stand in that corner for ages!

Wouldnt particularly listen to school reports personaly, primary school may be different but twice in secondary school I saw/heard proof that teachers reports were pre-written "one size fits many" style and which ever one suited the student best was the one that was on the report.

Proof #1. Music teacher actualy told is that was how she was told to do them

Proof #2. English teacher new I read alot, dad also knew I read alot, report still said "Conan would benefit from reading more often" dad tended to ignore the reports from then on.

They tend not to do SATs in universities because the students have twigged that if everyone gets bad results in their SATs, they are set an easier main exam.

The whole system is fundamentally flawed and a waste of time for all concerned. It achieves nothing useful and they should stop spending my hard-earned taxes on administering such crap.
