Semi-Automatic Goldwing

Hello

Some one told me a while back that Hond Was bringin out a Honda Goldwing for the Automatic licence Holders.

Its ment to be a Honda Goldwing Semi-automatic with same set up as the Burgman 650.

Google isnt giving me much but has any one els hear heard owt or is it just a rumor that will never come true ?

i can't see honda making it as the yamaha FJR1300AS hasn't really sold well (probably due to it being ~£300 more than the base model when it first came out)

Not much information at all on this other than rumours and whispers. From what i can dig up there are murmurs coming from Honda that their HFT system will be an option on the next updated version of the wing in 2011.

There's the Silverwing, which seems to be as close as they could get to the Goldwing in a scooter. Wouldn't a semi auto be a heel-toe gearshift with no clutch? Not much use if it's ankle movement that's restricted.

If you want an auto bike there are a couple around, as mentioned above yamaha made an FJ1300 in auto, it's an auto clutch rather than gearbox though so you will still need to choose gears.

Aprilia make an auto bike, which IMO you will be better suited to, i think its the mana (650?) it's a bit sportier than the wing, considering your not a 50 year old bloke I think you may prefer it

Also there is that DN-01 thing, looks are like marmite, kind of like it myself, most people seem to hate it Might be able to get a test ride on the DN-01 and the mana through dealerships

Good to see your looking at moving to an almost proper bike

All new Honda Goldwing will get Human Friendly Transmission says MCN. So quite possibly a load of bollox.
