Do you keep your bike/a bike in the house?

As title, I mean physically inside, if you do why?

Is it a Ducati Desmosedici RR and you have it in the living room to drool over and have 'relations' with on quiet nights?

Do you perhaps not have anywhere else to put it??

if i had my own house and a better bike like a cbr fireblade then yeah i'd keep it inside.
its less likely to be nicked and... i can glance at it every 10 mins whilst watching tv. haha

There was a thread on here a while ago and I remember seeing the program aswell... I think it was Grand Designs, where a bloke stuck a Ducati on his living room wall above the fireplace. Ridiculous...

I have power, heat, light and carpet in the garage and the wife never goes in there.

Why on earth would I want to put them in the house?

I did have a CB400/4 in the kitchen for a long time, as there was already 4.5 bikes in the garage and I'd run out of room. A friend of mine (WavyGravy) had a Ducati Paso 906 and a Suzuki GN250 in his dining room, and a CB125S in his hallway - he didn't have a garage.

Two. A CBR125 and an SV650S, both in the kitchen.

It helps when you have insurance companies that stick endorsements on theft cover "conditional on being garaged"

I've got a ground anchor and Almax chain plus other stuff, but if they can't nick it they'll just torch it, so in the kitchen they go.

I could do with a wider kitchen doorway as the SV is a ballache to fit through without scraping anything. The little CBR is sweet to fit in and out so it gets the most use during the week and the SV gets saved for weekend blasts, long distance trips and motorways.

Anyone who actually does this, be aware that you may be in breach of your house insurance. If your house was to burn down and they find the carcass of a bike in there, containing petrol, payout is not guaranteed.

I have a little H100 sat in the kitchen to my wifes disgust. Got two bikes in the shed so thats full and one outside but the little honda you could pick up and carry away so inside it goes.

The only problem i find is she tends to use it as a clothes horse.

When I had my YBR I kept it in the house! I'm not entirely sure why, thinking back, but it never occured to me to keep it outside. It was (and still is) the first vehicle I'd owned from new, so it was very special to me.

Also back then we had an old manky carpet - we'd NEVER keep our bikes in the house now we've decorated and got new carpet! I was lucky that with the YBR being small it was easy to wheel it in through the front door. Goodness knows what the neighbours thought!!!!

Nope, never.

When I was 18 I had a Jawa (combination) which blew up in a big way and was only good for spares. My dad worked with a guy who also had one, and I sold him all my spares for £30 including a petrol tank which he needed. I had hooked the sidecar onto a Honda Dream by then so I loaded all the spares into the chair and delivered them across town. The guy was working on his bike in the kitchen, and I asked him if he didn't think it was a bit dangerous. He said no he always worked on the bike in there, I dropped off the parts and left.

Next day my dad came home from work to tell me he had a petrol fire which burned down his house, and he lost four of his kids in the blaze.

I live in a disabled bungalow, so no steps and wide doors. im bike is stored in the exstention. handy for working on and restful nights. also my woofers go mental if someone is near the back gate. lol
also my insurance peeps know its kept indoors and adjusted the cost to reflect the decrease in nickability

Theres all of a CB500 except the engine in my bedroom, and a fair amount of FZR in there/other rooms too.

No particular reason really. Originally it was storage so we could get a car in the garage so I moved it up as componants, then I tidied up my room, and decided it would be fun to reassemble most of it and ride it round my room

(it was indeed fun)
