Wow, that's pretty impressive.
Is Autosol just normal metal polish? I've got some Autoglym metal polish here.
Might give mine a once over. ____________________ MKGaming.com

Hi, looking good, a vast improvement on the originals! I've had a go with the brake reservoir cap from my TZR
Given, I still have to get the scratches out before its done, but it looks ok i think https://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb73/sam_billing_91/18072009019.jpg ____________________ '84 TS50X, '91 TZR125, '89 CBR400RR, '91 VFR400R NC30, '98 R1

yeah its a metal polish, but the best of the best.. its only like £4.00 though so its worth getting some.
if you have a polishing wheel it will come up great.
if you want to polish plastics theres a "Autosol plastic polish", but you have to buy them off ebay as they dont sell them in the UK yet. or you can use Xerapol from Hein Gericke.
Optiglaze from hein gericke for steel downpipes brings them up unbelievably too..
haha hope this helps. |

yeah, you could have any colour writing you wanted, just use a wire brush on a drill to get most of the paint from the lettering, then spray it in the colour you want..
then just remove the top layer, leaving coloured letters..
job done
i might do that tomorrow! haha |

One thing I used on my brake reservoir was Silvo wadding, it's really brought the shine out and also has the advantage of tarnish protection ____________________ '84 TS50X, '91 TZR125, '89 CBR400RR, '91 VFR400R NC30, '98 R1

Not bad, but you can get a better finish than that with wet and dry (with an extra dollop of patience anyway).
I hope the rest of the bike's tidy. |

ive started using a local auto paint supplier they stock more than what halfords or anywhere else does and also cheaper, plus you can knock a few quid off if you're cheeky.
plus they know what they're talking about.
if you know any sprayers ask them where they get their paint from.

nah it wasn't painted, it was kind of a lumpy effect metal. im not really sure how to describe it.
anyway.. yeah i just sanded it smooth, the put some t-cut on it to make it abit smoother and then autosol. buff the hell out of it untill it comes up shiny.
i was thinking about getting an abrasive wheel to put in a drill but i went for the cheaper option.
cheers man, mine was in pretty shoddy condition when i bought it but ive cleaned, fixed and restored all of it. just need to get the wheels powdercoated and it'll be in showroom condition. |
