there hasn't really been a thread about this so i though i'd start one..
what of the 5 main bike brands is the best?

taking into account..
Arrow performance
Arrow price
Arrow design/looks
Arrow reliability

thought it would be interesting to get peoples opinions on them.

I doubt there's many people who've done a back to back test ride of those bikes, let alone lived with them for prolonged periods, so any answer is pretty much useless.

1098 is the arguably the best looking out of those; latest Jap sportsbikes generally look a bit wrong these days. But I wouldn't spend that much on a bike. I'd also prefer an 848 in white instead.

But I'd prefer a late model 998 or 748 over one of those anyway.

But then again, I personally don't need a sportsbike that big and probably not an Italian brand...

...probably the wrong person to post in this thread then. Neutral

yeah same, i think the ducati's have the best looks all together.
the only bit i dont like on the GSXR is the stock exhausts, they look like grey bananas. Very Happy
not a big fan of ninjas either.

i think the best all rounder has got to be the Blade.

Out of those, the Duke gets my verdict but tbh, I'd rather have an RSV4 or RC8R than any of those Drooling

None of those. If I wanted any one of those I'd buy one.

I don't, so therefore none of them are the best bike ever.

The best bike ever? Clearly an RD350LC.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Out of those, the bike I would most want is the duke, but make it the 1198.

The Honda got really good reviews in all the bike mag's though.

If I had the cash I'd only consider two of those.

1098 - Drooling
ZX10R - well it is a kwak afterall Twisted Evil

GSXR's - Gone right off Suzuki
CBR's - Just meh, good but don't excite me in any way
R1's - Chavtastic.

I don't think I'd ever need all the performance a sports bike can offer to be honest, that's just not how I ride.
If it was looks/image I was after though, I'd have a Daytona. Since that isn't on your list I've selected the only one I'd even consider owning. Ninja.

GSXR - It's what "Neds" ride up here. (Bike Equivalent of Subaru Impreza)
R1 - It's what "Neds" aspire to ride up here. (Bike Equivalent of EVO)
CBR - It's mundane, if I want a Honda it'll be a commuter/tourer (which is mundanely what I want from a bike).
Ducati - I'm a sucker for reliability when I need to get somewhere in the morning, also I'm not metrosexual enough to own anything Italian.
Daytonas and Ninjas are just as bad as the rest, but at least they have the cool factor.

Just my Penny Coin Penny Coin from someone who couldn't utilise a sports 1000.

From then on, I and the bicycle feelings deeper.

The thread is pretty useless because I doubt there are more than a couple of people here who have actually ridden all the bikes in the poll...

Wrong way round. Powervalves are only needed for those limp wristed enough not to be able to cope with a real power band Wink .

All the best

Right time to hijack the thread then.
Other than early Yamaha lc's which road going two strokes, pre power valves, had a power band as pronounced as a more modern sports 250 like an Aprilia RS. Tuned specials or racers don't count.
The aircooled strokers I rode were reasonable flexible. In fact a disc valved stroker I tried didn't seem to have a power step at all.
TYhis is good thread for an argument Mr. Green

Gotta agree. Let's look at the evidence:

> No-one is in a situation to actually give any first hand experience of all the bikes;
> The result of the poll is simply going to be the product of branding;
> All the bikes are virtually identical. I would go so far to say that if you could have a blind test, virtually no-one would be able to say which one is which, apart from the Ducati;
> The only people who would care about the result are children or image obsessed adults, or image obsessed children come to that.

So yup, very retarded IMO.
