One of my dreams. Ride of into the sunset like a cowboy, or like the guys off Wild Hogs.

Makes me think of that Bon Jovi song, Wanted Dead or Alive.

Now I need to go buy a hog...hmm.....

Warped

Did it when I was 20, got fed up with working in factories and doing the same thing day in and day out. I was also on the run for a serious offence, (later dropped to a lesser charge). All I took with me was a blanket and ,strangely enough, a George Thorogood record. When I told my boss I was leaving, he said - "you do realise that if you stay here another 20 years, you'd be foreman?" No brainer really. My girlfriend was a bit upset and when she asked what to tell my mates etc, I said, "I dunno, tell them I'm dead". This she did and when I returned a few years later, (by that time I was living in France), there was a lot of surprised faces. I'd recommend it to just about anyone but you need to keep your wits about you and it's a different world out there now than it was when I hit the road.

You're a legend mate. I bow to thee. Thumbs Up

Every day I think about it, I'm in at the deep end now though... mortgage, girlfriend, kid. Can't abandon my responsibilities now, as much as I'd sometimes like to.

At the moment I just feel like a good month away, just me and a 1 man tent around Europe. Thinking about stuff like this gets me through the day.

If i was single i would do it now. If i wasn't with my GF i wouldn't really have anywhere to live or anything to do. So it would make sense to do one. I think about it everyday. Sad

Yes. After university I moved to Macclesfield, and a year later, I packed up my belongings and moved down south.

And then after I went travelling, I came back to the UK and moved to the southcoast...again where I don't know people. Though I have slowly been making friends (mostly through the bike scene).

Two years ago I thought about relocating again, seriously considering both Nottinghamshire and Norfolk. Needless to say, neither happened...but I rarely 'feel' settled in an area...so it's likely to happen again. Very Happy

Yes, much as I love my wife and children, and currently have the best job I've ever had (all relative I know), there is a small part of me that just craves the solitude.

All the time.

When I have enough money and am comfortable and secure e.g. got plenty of savings, I want to move to NZ or similar and live peacefully.
