 |
|
Got out from work today at 6pm, went to the bike, key in, try to start. Nothing. I soon discovered that they'd cut the ignition cable! At first I thought maybe it was some gypsy shits just fucking up my bike, but then I discovered that the other bit of the cable was all wired together. Hotwired
My steering lock is broken so the only thing stopping them was the fact that the bike didn't start. Where I work there is police everywhere and not a second when there aren't less than 20 people within 20 metres of the bike...
Called to get my bike taken home, and the guy confirmed it. The battery was also down to about 3.5 volts.
So what saved me? Could they have blown a fuse? Only thing I can think of, the battery is new and the bike is generally very easy to start...
I consider myself VERY lucky |

good job they didnt get it!
someone should invent a little switch that disables everything electrical on the bike.
one that people can buy and wire into the bikes themselves, so you can just hide the little switch somewhere on the bike..
turn it off when your leaving the bike then people wouldnt be able to nick it unless they push it away..
but steering lock should sort that out.
job done |

Sorry to hear about the attempted theft bud At least you still got it at the end of the day. Nobody's tried it on mine yet, but I always leave it chained up & disc locked just incase.
Yeah lol any old switch capable of withstanding a decent voltage & amperage would be fine for that. I'd thought about such a thing myself but it'd have to be deep in the electrics, if you just wired it on straight at the battery it'd be way too easy to circumvent |

Least they didn't have off with the bike though!
I used to park my SR50 outside my mates flat in Skelmersdale when I was 16. I loved that thing and one day came back from the shop, was only gone about 15 mins an the bike was gone.
At first I though, "Must be one of my mates who's hidden it for a laugh" and didn't think anything of it. Waited for my mate to come back and says, "So come on, where is it lad?" to which he replies, "The fuck you on about?".
At this point it suddenly dawned on me he had no idea what I was talking about from the look on his face (he never was a good liar) and I started flipping saying someone's pinched it.
Got a few lads out the flat and we all split up an had a mooch around and I was walking about franticly looking for it for about 20 - 30 mins. At this point I was ready to give up and then caught a glimpse of something in a field.
I got on my toes an ran towards it and found the little fuckers with it upside down, petrol coming out of it trying to throw matches on it. I didn't say anything because I wanted to stove the little cunts heads in but one of them shouted, "RUNNNN" as I was about 20m away an they all bolted in different directions.
I was fucked at this point but I went after the one who was flicking matches at the petrol, he also had a screwdriver in his hand. He ran down an alley way an I ran round the other side an down a row of houses an literally close lined the cunt coming out the other side of the houses. I punched the cunt several times in the back of the head before spinning him round and realised he was the son of a well known drug dealer/nut case.
At this point I let go of him an he ran off. Cheeky little bastards though. Fucked the barrel, ignition was hot wired, all the front fairings had been snapped off. |

As long as I get a chain on it next time they won't touch it. There are A LOT nicer bikes outside my workplace...
The other day there was a Ducati 1098, regularly a few monsters and a mint cbr 600, usually a 2009 gsxr 750.
If they have to load something into a van it won't be my 1993 zxr 750 |
