Bike Identification

Hi All. It's been a while since I posted in here.

I have had a 1982 Honda CB750 Custom for about 2 years. Recently I found out it should have a drum at the back but it has a disk. Even with the Engine and VIN numbers I can't properly find out what exact model it is. Honda UK can't help.

I believe it has been imported in the past but dunno where from.

Any suggestions?

It is a standard Honda CB750 custom, usa import, nothing unusual about it at all.. Same motor as the CB750f, I have one of these bikes myself.
As for your missfire, it could be valves need setting, carbs could be playing up, the spark ignitors don't go wrong that often. As many seem to think. It is either your valve shims are set too tight hence the valve not closing, or your carbs are out of sync. Electrically , check all the connector blocks under the tank for corrosion, clean and coat them with dielectric grease.

As you post is quite old i guess youi may have sold this bike already in that case i trust the next owner has got it sorted out...lol

you can enter your vin and find the basic info like age , origin etc it will also tell you if the vin is valid/ made up.

Thiers allways the chance it's an old ringer but best not to think about that.

Its not the Custom model ,its the 750Kz Ltd (the Custom had a drum brake and doesn't have the peg hangers.

Really a Cb750kz ltd... funny that as i have an almost identical bike sitting in my garage on my bike lift .. and mine has the same tank, the same side covers , the very same rear foot peg hangers as well as a Disc brake on the rear whee and twin discs on the front. and the registration log book says... HONDA CB 750 Custom..I think the dead give away is the fact that the side cover on the original posting shows a CB750Custom badge and it is on the correct cover as i make copies of these Side covers..

Cb750 KZ side Covers are completely different.

No disrespect meant to anybody on my previous post.
I have been running mine, and rebuilding it now for 2 years .CMSL has part fiches for the 80, 81, 82 (https://www.cmsnl.com/honda-cb750_model157/ ) and it shows the rear hangers welded to the frame and all three models using a drum, they used the dual disk front on the 81 and 82 models. Where as this place (https://classic-motorbikes.net/gallery~cb750-gallery) shows what looks like the picture of the unidentified one and says its a Kz - still a custom version but if he needs parts it would be best to pin down witch is witch...... if that all makes sense

Whatever it is, it doesn't look like a US import.... unless someone took the side reflectors off..
