A few questions after viewing my first taday....

1. Is 32,000 a lot of miles for the old VFR?
2. How much have you paid to get them restricted?
3. How reliable are imported VFRs?

Ummm, I think thats it for the mo...I'm sure Ill think of others!

HELP ME PLEASE I need a better/nicer/faster/bigger bike, I want an NC, very very much!

THANK YOU you will be rewarded Wink

>>OK.....I want to buy an NC30<<
Don't blame you Smile

1. Is 32,000 a lot of miles for the old VFR?
Yes. Does it have a service history etc?.. Ie any recent rebuilds, includin the suspension brakes etc.

2. How much have you paid to get them restricted?
I heard a bit under £200, if you're getting it from a garage you might be able to do a deal, but that was a while ago (mole had his restricted I think, but he might have got it included with the price.)

3. How reliable are imported VFRs?
From what I've seen they're the best of the sports 400s

edit: for tiredness

You can get them restricted for a couple of tins of lager Laughing

If you know a friendly mechanic like I do, buy the bike... take it to him... he will then cram rags in the exhaust, let the air out of the tyres and voila your bike will be less than 33bhp... the mechanic I know said the other week he restricted a ZXR400, crammed rags into the exhaust... stuck it on the dyno... 36bhp... let air out the tyres... 31bhp.... print off dyno sheet.... take the rags out (don't forget that bit Cool ), pump up the tyres... get burnin some rubber!!

4000? Bloody hell, I didn't realise it was such a low amount!
I've done 4000 on my V-Raptor since the end of Sept, and it was being fixed for 4 months of that!
Ontop of that I do about 16000 miles a year on my Bandit!

The NC30's are the most expensive of the older 400's. Even the CBR's are cheaper now. And the R/W/B colour scheme puts me off as I have a partially white bike now and I know how bad it is to keep clean Smile
The VFR's are oficially the fastest but the ZXR usually wins out on road tests as it has slightly better handling *apparently*.
There seem to be plenty of us loking for 400's. Maybe we should get a forum together so we can share experiences and prices/for sales etc.

Pathetic isnt it. Not sure how many I do, but roughly since April 1989 I have done 29000 on the Bandit, 4000 on the RS125, 4000 on the Bimota, 1000 on the FReccia and about 1500 on the GPZ500.

All the best

Hi

In the UK motorbikes "officially" do about 4 billion passenger km per year, same as bicycles. Compare that with cars that do about 630 billion passenger km. Somehow suspect the figures are a tad wrong as I really dont believe people do as many miles on bicycles as bikes

All the best

I do 3000 a year just going the 3 miles to work and back. Then there's rallies, ride-outs, visits to the GF etc.
