Im taking my bike to Webbs in Lincoln where I bought it from to have the carbs balanced. My missis rang up and booked it in for me and also booked me on a test ride for the new Street Triple R so I don't get bored waiting. What a woman Very Happy

as above had a test ride at webbs pboro stonking little bike and a mega waiting list

best induction noise ive heard on a small bike Thumbs Up and well braked.

ps a lot think there more fun Very Happy and a dam sight cheaper than the speed triple

I was split between the speed & street, it was that good it swayed me away from the '12, then i thought for £500 i might aswell go the hog n get the R.

Really is made for the road.

Agreed the Street is cheaper but I really don't believe you can have more fun on a Street than you can on a Speed!

The Street just misses the lovely 1050 engine of the Speed... there is NO comparison. The Street feels weak in comparison. As I've said before - there's a whole sports bike's worth of cylinder size missing between the 675 and the 1050!!! Wink

The Speed does not feel much heavier on the road than the Street. There is a marginal difference but not too much to matter and as far as actual size there is no difference between the two...

I guess it just comes down to the fact, at the end of the day, if you can't afford a Speed (or don't feel up to handling the power) then a Street is certainly a good alternative! Wink Thumbs Up

I'd have to disagree there. I felt intimidated by the Speed when I rode it, but the Street was a hoot. A bit like a modern LC really...

Heavy bikes are so 2001. This year we are mostly liking the lighter variety of bike... IE one that isn't a comparative motorcycling lardarse! Razz Smile

It's incredible you say that as I REALLY didn't think the Street was a lot lighter on the road compared the Speed! It just felt slow! Wink

I'm sure it's all psycological.. there's only 20kg between them and they are both very well balanced! The seat height seemed a little lower and narrower on the Street (marginally) so that may make it feel slightly easier to handle maybe??!!

I'm short so the street fits me a lot better and felt distinctly lighter.
This is from someone who has owned 170mph + and 180 bhp bikes for 2 years, think I could handle a weedy speedy

Have been drooling over the Street Triple in Webbs lol
I love it in the orange, may be a year or so before I can have one though as i dont think a brand new bike for my 1st "big" bike is a good idea Laughing

How do you cope with a Street? Must be like riding a pedal bike compared to such fast powerful bikes you've owned in the past Rolling Eyes

[edit] I have to concede on the seat height... it is 10mm higher on the Speed and 'maybe' slightly wider?

But I guess the whole point is you have to enjoy what you ride and if you prefer the Street that is the one for you! I personally prefer the Speed and that's why I've owned them for the last 6 years.... but not for much longer Wink

The speed just felt blunted by the extra mass it was lugging around. It felt like it wanted to be an MX5 but was in fact a Mercedes S class...

That's interesting as that is sort of how I felt about the Speed Four when I first rode it... it felt nice to ride but it needed to have more strength than it actually did... was a but like having to flog it everywhere just to get the 'power' buzz that you get without trying on the Speed Triple! - It's kinda why I gave up on 600/4cyl Sports Bikes as, for me, ragging them just to get the buzz felt a bit dangerous, but with the Trip it is just 'there' right from the start so no ragging is needed.

Different strokes for different folks I guess! We all get the 'thrill' from a different type of biking... cough Harley cough!

Liked the lightness as a change, after lugging around the likes of fully packed blackbirds i just fancy one thats a bit more flickable Wink
